Most early college high school programs are designed to help students either earn an Associates Degree and high school diploma at the same time, or to give them a head start on course credits for a bachelor’s degree. The driving philosophy behind most early colleges is that they challenge all students, especially those less inclined to attend college. Research has shown that students who have greater college exposure are more likely to complete an undergraduate degree, as well as to pursue advanced degrees.
Metro Early College High School is located on Ohio State University’s west campus, giving its students direct exposure to everything from the college libraries to the shuttle system well before they take a class.
