Tracy Zollinger Turner has boxes of published writing that may leave you with ink-stained fingers, as well as gigabytes of electronic folders full of digitally published work. In her 16 years as a journalist, she’s written newspaper, magazine and online features about everything from censorship to Cher to what a CPU does. She has also produced pieces about regional and international figures in the art world for public radio and edited a bridal magazine, a midwestern arts magazine and an extensive online city guide.
The daughter of an art educator and an educational volunteer, education has long been one of her areas of interest and expertise. She spent her first year out of college as a school beat reporter in the Columbus suburbs. For the past five years, Turner has been working with KnowledgeWorks as a storyteller. She spent four years at Brookhaven High School and one year at Africentric Early College High School, and wrote authentic stories of urban school reform for several of the project’s award-winning publications.
Mother to a young son and wife to a local music personality, Turner also blogs about culture, outer space, the freelance writing life and motherhood regularly. Find out more about her at Writearm.com.
